Hello, I just need a little advice on how to serge a complete circle (eg., bottom of sleeve) without having a little opening still. When I finish the sleeve I tend to go over the beginning and still have a little opening that wasn't serged, so then I try again and again ... then the sleeve gets shorter and shorter...and then it is too short...HELP:) I would appreciate anyones input:)

If you start by cutting a rectangle out of the edge where you want to start it helps. Cut away the seam allowance in a short section, and start there. Then when you get to the end you can just serge off, and it should all be level.

Does that make sense?

Also, keep serging past where you started so that the threads overlap. Be very careful if you have the blade going; you don't want to cut your stitch threads.

When you have overlapped for a small space, stop & put the needle in the fabric. Lift the presser foot up, & pull the fabric so that it is all behind the needle. Put the presser foot down & serge off the fabric. This prevents that gradual serging off that causes threads to half-hang off the edge of your fabric.

With a great wardrobe that's still in the flat-fabric stage.
