On an A line wedding dress is just the strapless bodice lined and interfaced?
What type of interface is best to use?
I will be putting in stays into the lining, what would be good to use as a lining?
The gown will have a cathedral length train with tulle over it. Is it necessary to line the train?

It depends on what fabric you are using, but typically I would interface the whole dress as well as line the whole thing with china silk. You can sew boning directly into the lining, but the best thing is to make a separate corselete with boning to the natural waist or a bit past. This is attached inside the lining at the top seam. Lining the train isn't a must, but can be a nice finishing touch. It depends on the fabric. I usually don't line the train when I'm doing a built in crinoline because the lining is inside the crinoline.

Keep in mind that white can have a "see-thru" effect and lining the skirt would mitigate against that. Are you old enough to remember one of the photo engagement era photos of Princess Diana where she was wearing a light summery cotton dress and the sun created a backlit effect? Her body was pretty clearly silhouetted. For a wedding gown, that's something to avoid...

Thank you so much for the info. The dress will have a slightly dropped waist. The fabric will be a medium satin with tulle over the A line skirt. Interfacing the whole dress is a great idea. Do you have any suggestions for interfacing? The dresss will have some lace and beading so I'm a little concerned about the weight.
I plan to build in the crinolin using petticoat netting (with a lining underneath). What fabric do you use?
Thanks again for all the help.
