I liked that video - I noticed how many people looked VERY young! - only a few older people shown.

:) Interesting! Very well done. Their Global site always has interesting things on it too. :)

Makes me want to visit the Janome dealer today. I need some new needles anyway...

I liked the video and it was very interesting to watch. Low employee turnover is nearly unhead of in the USA, but for Japan, it is much more normal. Thanks for uploading this video for us to see and enjoy.

Currently working on a boys quilt. Sized 40 x 40 inches. It has chickens, chicken eggs, cows, fish, sea life, afield with water, Dachshunds, mini sailboats, and many colorful other fabrics. The blocks are a 4 x 4 finished size, so many of them are needed.
This my 4th quilt in 7 months.

Thanks for that link, I enjoyed the video but wish they would've explained why their "Quilter's Companion" (4900) machine won't sew a 1/4 inch seam across another seam (something quilters must do frequently!). I've found a workaround, but it involves not being able to use any of the 1/4 inch feet. Not very "companionable".

Ghillie, Have you tried the O2 foot? It was designed for the Horizon because that machine had real problems sewing over seams. I got one for my 6600 even though I didn't need it. The O2 foot sews a perfect scant 1/4 inch without having to change the default needle position. When Janome redesigned this foot for the Horizon they made it also available for all Janome machines with rotary hook like your 4900.

Yes, I did get the O2 foot & it helped a little, not much (I still had to push & pull the fabric some). I think the problem is with those 2 itty bitty feed puppies (too small to be called feed dogs) in front of the needle, but there's no way Janome could lengthen them without changing the whole configuration of the feed system.
