How to draft it? (Moderated by Deepika, Sharon1952)

Grrr - I've drafted a contour waistband before, but all of a sudden I can't find the instructions. It isn't that hard, you just take a regular waistband and slash and spread 1/4" a certain number of times at certain places. I searched all my sewing reference books (including Armstrong's Patternmaking book) and can't find it. Can anyone help?

You can trace off the curve of the seamline at the top of your pant waist with all the darts closed, and use this as the bottom of your contour waistband. Then add the required width above that seamline for your band, plus seam allowances. Double check that the top edge of the band is the waistband measurement that you want. Add or subtract a tad at the CB or side seams at the top of the WB if you need to adjust.
