Just bought the April 2012 "Burda Style" and had sticker shock when I checked out and saw the $11. shipping fee. I haven't found the magazine at any of my local stores. Is $10. for the magazine and $11. for shipping a price I should expect to pay?

Do you have a subscription? When I still had mine from GLP News it was about $90 for the year, which included shipping. If you are in northern VA, G Street Fabrics carries issues. Shipping a magazine should not be more than a few dollars for US residents if they're sent from a US location. USPS won't let you send magazines via medial mail (advertisements) but $11 is ridiculous unless it was mailed using a special service.

Here's a link to GLP News with a price breakdown. Priority mail is much more expensive than periodical mail:

Hi, You probably just purchased this from my store and in the interest of clearing things up, shipping for a BurdaStyle magazine is $3, not $11. If you chose flat rate shipping from the drop down menu, that is $11 but it is for boxes of fabric. If you look further down the drop down menu, you'll notice that there is a "magazine or pattern" rate and also for international buyers a "world magazine/pattern" rate. On those occasions where the wrong shipping option is chosen, I always either refund the difference to a paypal account or make the adjustments before the credit card payment is finalized.

If you were in Canada, that would be close to what we'd pay :(

Haven't found them at G Street. Guess I'm there at the wrong time. Will keep looking.

I'm shipping to Ca again and it's not that much. In fact, just today one mag was $5 for shipping.

I don't know when new issues arrive but I imagine you can probably call and ask so you can time your visits. Maybe they'd be willing to hold a copy for you?
