I would like to suggest that pattern review take a look at the format being used by craftsy. Sympoz. It has excellent video and audio quality. Its very user friendly and most of all available on customers schedule.

The Sew Retro course even has the option to purchase a dvd of the online course.

Hope to see class format change in the future.

Hi Scheri,

Did you know that we've started a new video only class?

Thank you for your feedback regarding video classes. We are experimenting with this format with the Fit the Tee to a T class.

It has been my belief that in order for a class to be truly instructive there has to be the opportunity for teacher interaction in an individual and group setting. Our existing online class format provides that via real time chats and forums. It also allows for more face time with teachers. Additionally having a common start and end date allows for a group of students to come together - and learn from each other - in a manner that is difficult in a class totally at will.

Again thank you for the feedback. I hope to hear more from students in the Fit The Tee to a T video class that we launched recently and offer more choices for classes in the future.

This is an interesting topic. I have hesitated to sign up for the Fit to a T class because it seems to be only video. While video is nice, my preference is for the interaction that the other classes provide. I love the forums and everyone doing the project at the same time. And the fact that I can download those discussions in pdf form to have for reference later. Not to mention that the rest of the class format also allows me keep the materials. While I have not yet taken a class that was the standard format and provided a video option, that seems to me to be the best of both worlds.

Janyce,

Thanks for jumping in. We all learn differently. I for example prefer to teach myself at my own schedule. Some people prefer text to video while others just like the video. This is why we plan to have options available for everyone.
