I'm working on CJ's fitted jacket pattern. I have done the forward shoulder adjustment to the shoulder, but am now confused as to how to adjust the sleeve.
I've only done this with a one piece sleeve and just added and subtracted 1/2in. to both sides of the sleeve SA and tapered down to the bottom.
Can I do the same to the upper sleeve and not wreck the grainline of the sleeve? THe sleeve piece is a bit of an unusual shape, and I'm not sure if this is the right approach. Hopefully this makes sense....

Thanks! -Jeanette

In the book I am looking at, there is no change to the armhole in a forward shoulder adjustment....so I am wondering why you are adjusting your sleeve? Do you have sleeve probelms as well? If there is no change to the armhole, you just have to make sure the notch for the sleeve placement stays where it should.

Hi Georgene, If you don't change the sleeve, it, the whole sleeve is rotated by 1/2 in. (in my case) which affects the alignment at the seams, etc. In FFRP, they say you can leave it, if you don't mind if the seams/ notches don't line up, but I usually adjust the sleeve, so the original notches, etc, along the bottom/sides match up. Does that make sense?
I had borrowed that book from the library, or else I'd look it up myself.... I guess I could just rotate it on this one... Thanks! -Jeanette
