What do y'all think of this? I think the "Mother Superior" thing is kind of off-putting, personally.

Yup! Totally agree. I think they should have done a bit of market research before settling on a name. Didn't even bother clicking through (if you can, I didn't check!) to see the website.

I got smacked an awful lot BY a real one, and most nuns have senses of humor.

Tacky? Yup. At least it's not in the vein so much other stuff is when the church gets poked fun at.

Well...I kinda meant what do think of them opening a fabric store? I'm not Catholic, but I can see how some wouldn't be amused. :)

I am not an "artsy" person when it comes to thread....but I thought their monthly thread project was a new idea no one has really pitched yet....a good way to learn varied techniques with varied thread types.

Bob at Superior Threads always calls his wife that. SO now they are selling fabric - I can only say this - if the fabric and the service are as TOP NOTCH as the thread and the service when you order thread - that's gonna be a great online fabric store no matter what they call it! Superior Threads is absolutely A#1. Just a really fanatic satisfied customer here!

Muffet I'm glad you explained the process of how this business got the name. I was kind of put off by it as well. It looked like SPAM to me

In reply to Courtney Ostaff
I've been shopping with Superior Thread for quite a long time so I was familiar with the "mother superior" title.
Doesn't bother me in the least, it's a trustworthy retailer.
