I finally found a pattern to make Mum a lap quilt for her birthday in April.

Now I need the fabric. Mum's whole house is shades of beige, but she wears lots of red, black and navy. So I was planning a red and black or red and navy quilt.

I need about 20 different fabrics ranging from solids through a variety of scales in print. I will be using 3 inch strips, but if I found the right jelly roll, I could make it work with smaller strips.

I would prefer fabric from just one line, as red can vary from orange red to blue red and I want all the red to be the same shade, just mixed with the black or blue in the prints.

I will look at one other colour in the prints if it is not too dominant.

Thank you in advance for the suggestions.

Hawthorne Threads

I HIGHLY recommend this site, because they group their fabrics according to designers line. AND they show coordinating colors.

That red and black is really cute! Maybe buy the same line with the navy if you want that incorporated?
