If you guys are like me, this board's list of fabric resources is like a bible. I go back to it all the time.

BUT if you're obsessive about fabric shopping like me, one list is never enough. So, I took some time and pulled together a new one. There's some overlap and some new stuff. Mostly, it's a list for bargain shoppers :). Check it out over here.

(I need to go back and add info on international shipping, but hope this has at least a few new spots for some of you! And for the fabric fast folks ... oh man, sorry about this...)

For Spandex World and Spandex House, there's a $20 minimum order before shipping.

Not entire on topic, but does anybody know about Cheep Trims? I've used them before; if you need bulk, they're fantastic.

Otherwise, what an amazing list! Thanks for sharing in so much detail :'D

That list is great!

There needs to be a Canadian one... where do the Canadian people shop for fabric online???

Shipping costs kills all desires to buy fabric online

Also, how do you find the "crazy cheap" fabric on ebay on your list? Somehow, I keep finding people who only want to sell by fat quarters.

Here's my strategy for digging up eBay gems. There's probably a way to streamline the whole thing, but this works for me :). Apologies if this is annoyingly detailed, but I wanted to make this helpful for people who've never played around with eBay.

1. Start on the main eBay page and do a simple search for "fabric" ... no need to get specific. This search just makes it easy to quickly get to the sub-categories where the good stuff's posted.

2. On the list of categories at the left-hand side, click on "sewing and fabric" under "crafts". It should be one of the first couple options.

3. On the next page, click on the "fabric" subcategory. At this point, you'll notice the search bar says you're searching for "fabric [in Fabric]". I go ahead and delete my original search query at this point, leaving just the "[in Fabric]" category, and hit enter -- that way my search turns up anything and everything listed on eBay under the Fabric section under crafts.

4. Here's the fun part. Now, you should see a bunch of filtering options to the left. (More options for each filter appear if you choose "see all"). You can filter by fiber, color, style, brand -- even length up for sale. At this point, you can also filter to search only for stuff up for auction, or only for "buy it now" options. You can narrow your price range, too.

If narrowing your options with those tools doesn't do it for you, you can always search specific terms up in the main search bar. As long as you leave the "in Fabric" tag there, you'll only get fabric-related results, so you can keep the search simple: "tie dye", "chevron", stuff like that.

5. You can also look to the upper right hand of the results field to find an option for sorting your results. Use this to search by price, find the newest stuff listed, or see what's about to expire. (I like to use the "ending soonest" option when I'm looking at auction-only items. It helps me find stuff where there's not a lot of time left for me to get outbid.)

Hope that helps! (Oh, and I'm going to update my blog post with international shipping info sometime this weekend. I know that doesn't help with finding Canadian shops, but at least it'll help with shipping?)
