Dear Friends, Please help me! I am sewing Simplicity 1914, http://tinyurl.com/mv6mfjl which has a boat neck band/yoke that is sewn onto the two pieced raglan sleeves and princess seam bodice. I made a muslin to check bodice and sleeve fit, but did not bother checking the boat neck band. I have sewn the dress and putting together the boat neck band is the last piece of fabric before zipper and hem. The band is too long. I have no more material to cut new band and facings, so I have to adapt the band and facings as they are. The band has interfacing fused to it already. When I pin it to the dress, the places where it wants to pleat is at the raglan arm seams. Should I add a pleat? A dart? Or should I just shorten the band and facings at the seam line which matches the seam line of the two-pieced raglan sleeves? Thank you for your advice! Carolyn

I would shorten the band to fit the neckline - baste before you cut shorter so you will know how it fits and be able to cut off the right amount

You could add a seam at the band center front and then shorten length at center front and center back.
