We couldn't get a real Christmas tree this year. (Moderated by Deepika, EleanorSews)

Last year, after years of trying to manage my asthma during Christmas tree season, the asthma got bad enough that I couldn't sit in the living room by the tree.
So this year: no real tree. I went online to Amazon and ordered two little three ft. fake trees. I love them! They are green, and full, and look just like real trees. One is in the living room, and one is in the kitchen. I love the kitchen one, since it's where I spend the majority of my time downstairs.
I am enjoying these little trees more than I ever loved the big, real trees. A new pleasure! Has anyone else found new, little things to enjoy during this holiday season?

Our first artificial tree was last year. I like it, it's very nice looking, realistic . I was lucky to get it for free as someone was cleaning out the home of an elderly woman who moved to a nursing home.
I have found this year that I REALLY like helping at the Christmas tree farm where my sewing school is the other 10 months of the year! Santa was in last Saturday and it's so wonderful to see all the little ones come in to get a candy cane and talk to Santa! I miss that now that my 3 sons are 16 yrs plus.

A few years ago, we remodeled our kitchen. The project lasted from October through January, so I couldn't do the typical baking and cooking during the holiday season. We also had to buy a much smaller tree (still a live one) than we normally do because our living and dining rooms were packed with the fridge, a makeshift counter top, boxes containing our pots and pans, etc. It was one of the best Christmases I ever had! The break with tradition meant a lot of less work for me, freeing me up to spend more time doing things I liked better.
If you've discovered the delight of having two small, artificial trees instead of one big one from the woods, rejoice!
Happy Holidays,
Claudia

I'm alergic to pine - for years I've suffered through the holidays with real cut christmas trees. A few years ago we purchased a live rosemary bush in tree shape - small but big enough and no watery eyes and runny nose (in my house at least).
