Last year I asked you all for help finding info about older sewing machines for a medical charity in West Africa. My friend who basically is the charity just got back and the sewing machines he sent over from here were a huge hit with several young men who had no prospects for being able to support themselves because of their severe medical conditions. Pattern Review members were a big help in figuring out how to get those machines into good working order. Thank you! But, of course, ...

Now we're working on more machines and need parts (throat plates, feet, bobbin cases, bobbins) for some older domestic and professional machines. I've got parts lists and manuals for the machines but we need some names of reliable online vendors for the parts we need. We'd rather deal with just one or two vendors if possible. We're located in northern NJ so if we really need to we can go into the NYC garment district too.

Recommendations anyone?

Here is a site I just heard about, but haven't used. Worth a try.
Good luck!

Belated thank you for the suggestions. I lost a reply somewhere between back to back visits from an insurance adjustor and a repair person for the dishwasher.

In case anyone else checks here for similar issues, Singer has a phone service where they will give you the model number for machines that only have serial numbers on them.

It should be noted that the Singer database is fraught with errors; often what is recorded there as to model type is incorrect.
