Wagreen's just got the Boots line from Britain.
Tell us about it and others faves, which me may or may not have.

Canada and Europe have access to often better/original recipe
products that the US FDA then changes, sometimes from pharma
political pressure. After reading reviews, I am ordering the original original Nivea tin cream online that is made in Germany--the US lesser products are made in Mexico. Some of their body creams and men's products do come from Germany, so not sure why we can't get the authentic women's creams.

Target carries Boots. Is it the same formula as in the UK?

Lisa Eldridge was the creative director for Boots for quite some time.

Lisa Eldridge

Her videos are a treat. I could listen to her lovely British accent all day. What she does with make up is even better.

If you are looking for international toiletries (and natural remedies) it's well worth looking into Merz Apothecary in Chicago. They have a website for internet orders where you can shop by country of origin and there are many European products available--the neighborhood where the original bricks and mortar store is and always has been very European, with many immigrants from Germany, Greece and, more recently, the former Yugoslavia. They have products from all over the world and the store itself is gorgeous inside. They apparently have a print catalog you can order. If our international members do start spilling the beans about brands to look out for, it's probably a good source to know about. Not for cosmetics, exactly, but lots of soaps, scents and skin care items. There is also a homeopathic pharmacy in the store, so they pride themselves on carrying "natural" products.

Not an ad, but I have adored this place since I first discovered it when I moved to the city over 20 years ago.

Here is their website:

I've had problems with mascara making my eyes burn for years now. I missed wearing mascara a lot!
I tried Boots No. 7 mascara.
No burning! I'm sold.
I'll probably try other products in their line when I need something.

Revival of this? Any new discoveries from US or other?

What are your fave "affordable", buy-locally
*wrinkle/day creams (Seniors)
*under-eye concealers
*everyday lite makeup like BB's
*stay-on lipsticks

I need to purge the bath drawers for 2016!

I'm not sure about Canada -- we hardly get any Boots items. I bought a nice Boots tinted moisturizer a few years ago, but our stores no longer carry it.

I don't know for sure, but I imagine a lot of our stuff here in Canada comes via the U.S., not directly from the U.K. or Europe.

This isn't a new discovery, but I quite like the Yves Rocher foundation called "Pure Light." For reference, I have sensitive skin -- probably a perfume allergy but I'm not sure.

Yves Rocher is a French company, and their products are mostly sold online -- I love them for colognes and bath items.
