Found a great jean jacket at the thrift shop, but it has some of those bling rhinestones on the back yoke that are more a teen style. That and new buttons will make it like a $50 find.

They are glued on, how would you remove carefully?

My first try would probably be heat. If they used a hot glue gun, a hairdryer might loosen them up enough to pull off the stones (wear gloves) and then get soften up any glue residue enough to roll it off there.

If the glue is down in the fibers, it's going to be a bit rougher, maybe careful use of Goof Off after the stone is removed?

You could try a dry cleaner. The dry cleaning solution is a solvent. Once in a while the beads or bling inadvertently comes off a garment that we clean so I know it's possible!

Nail polish remover will often soften the glue enough to soften it and then you can pull it off. Sometimes you can just pick them off with a fingernail or tweezers.

Thanks, hair dryer on the fritz, so I soaked the yoke in hot water and was able to peel off with no residue.
Of course that wasn't good for the nails!

Wow, hot water?? It's a wonder they stayed on as long as they did. It just goes to show you, sometimes we over think things

Sondra Celli, designer of gowns on MY Big Fat Gypsy Wedding says that some of her clients have boiled them off. Ruins the fabric of her gowns!
