I am going out of my mind trying to alter a blouse to fit 38DDD and add to "waist" area. I used Nancy Zieman's pivot and slide way. First...it is to big in the shoulders/arms and bust. I do it again, and make shoulders/arms smaller and bust the same and it is to small!. On the second time, I added 2 inches near the bottom to make the blouse kind of flare out a bit, and it was to tight! (that's 2 inches on the front pattern piece and 2 on the back...wouldn't that equal 8 inches total?) I measured and the measurement of the shirt was bigger than my measurements on my body, yet it was to tight there! I also lengthed it from waist to hem
So I am wondering...I had started with a man's shirt to make a sleep shirt. Since my woman's pattern is now so messed up...could I use this same method for sizing the man's shirt pattern? I made a sleep shirt and just did alterations for size but no darts, and the mock one turned out okay, but then when I used good fabric...it turned out to tight to wear to bed but I could wear it around the house. Think it will work on a man's pattern same as on a womans?

It should.
