I am hoping to receive my new to me machine next week! Very excited!

I dont know a whole lot about embroidery. I know I need needles and stabilizer, but do I need "special" bobbins?

Any advice is helpful and wanted.

This is an amazing craft. Yes, you need specific size bobbin spools and machine embroidery bobbin thread as machine embroidery does not use the same weight thread in the bobbin as for the top thread.

You can find this information in the manual for this specific machine at the Brother website.

You can find many tutorials and guides at the Embroidery Library website. New as well as the experienced machine embroider use this site.

Use the manual for every step as you learn to use this machine, testing with scraps or old garments and stay with machine. Like a mischievous child, as soon as you step away, trouble will come along.

Enjoy.

Be careful when buying bobbins for this machine. There are two different main bobbin styles for the home machines... Not all bobbins will fit into it...

I have the SE350 which is an earlier version, doesn't hook directly up to the computer as yours will do. That's the only difference between the 2 machines...

Read your manual for the correct info for buying the right bobbins for your machine...

Love my machine...
