Does anyone here have it or know someone with it? In one or both eyes? I think I have the start of it in my right eye. Sometimes I wonder if all of my senses are just going to take a dump on me. (I also have tinnitus, which affects my hearing).

Tina, has an Ophthalmologist diagnosed Macular Degeneration?
My eyesight degenerated and my Ophthalmologist initially mentioned the Macular Deg. however the diagnosis is CSR...central serous retinopathy, fluid build up under the retina and distorts vision. The CSR is taking a long time to heal though.

What does your vision look like with csr? The doctor hasn't diagnosed it - but knows about that darn dot. It's right in the center if my vision just like amd would be - but it's small. She thinks it's my brain masking something - (because I had the wrong prescription for a long while... Like I had time to do anything with a taking care of an autistic child). So yeah, completely self diagnosed. It may not be that - but whatever it is.... It's depressing!

Tina, I can feel your fear

To save you worrying more, can I suggest that you see an eye specialist for further investigation and an eye scan?
Blurry, distorted, jumbled and reduced size, dim (bright orange is seen as maroon) vision, even when wearing prescription lenses.
After my diagnosis, I discovered that if I squinted and looked through the eye, a large oval, dark gray blob covered most of my eye. I then noticed that vertical lines as in window frames, posts etc, were concaved ! Everything is maybe 50% smaller.
I have CSR in my left eye, as there is scar residue. The right eye is more badly affected.
CSR despription and symptoms

I do need to make a follow up appointment for this - it's just when.... From the website you linked to with the description of csr:
"In addition to distorted central vision, your vision may also appear blurred or dim. You may have a blind spot in your central vision. You may also notice a distortion of straight lines in your affected eye, or objects may appear smaller or further away than they actually are. When you look at a white object, it may appear to have a brownish tinge or appear duller in color."
I have the distorted central vision, with a small gray blind spot and I see the distortion of straight lines - especially with white lines (which means I really notice it while driving).
Thank you - you really helped. It's good to know that there might be an alternative explanation for this.

If you are diabetic ... it also sounds like diabetic retinopathy with floaters. ...A good thorough exam sounds like the way to go.... Good luck!

The description also pretty well fits a problem I have, epiretinal membrane (also known as macular pucker). Please get it checked out - some of these eye problems are more treatable than others.

Sometimes speed is of the essence when it comes to the eyes. Obviously, you have a full plate, but still, a prompt followup is a prudent idea.

The when is "now." Yes, you have a lot on your plate--but how on earth will you be able to take care of it all WITHOUT YOUR VISION?! Put this as the main priority on your to-do list this week.
Big hugs as you take care of yourself.

Tina, so sorry to hear about this development and others you mentioned. Please realize you are welcome to rejoin our ASG Group anytime if you want some compassionate local sewing friends again. Please immediately follow through with the eye exam as others have mentioned. My husband is a perfect example of someone not attending to a serious eye issue after cataract surgery and he suffered irreparable damage as a result. Do you have a good eye doctor locally? Pm me if you don't.
