Are there any sewing machines which are made here in the USA? I want something faster than my 20 year old Singer, but have no idea where to start, so maybe Made in the USA will be the place. :)

Visit as many dealers of various brands as you can find and take test drives....something like the little girl in the Hyundai car commercials...that has got to be her uncle at the wheel....as she wants to go faster and faster and he smiles and off they go....

All kidding aside, that is the only way you can find what will best suit you, not me, not anyone else who offers suggestions.....just you.

Well Bernina's 16 needle embroidery machine (made by Melco) is made in the US but that's probably not what you're looking for!

I don't know when if any machines were U.S. made, it's been at least many decades if so.

You really need to try them out on what YOU want to sew to see which handles what the best no matter where it was made. And if anyone tries to tell you this or that was or wasn't made here or there or skew your view based on place of manufacture, you can look on back or bottom of any one and see where it's made :)

Thanks everyone. Was hoping there was something... But I guess that ship has long sailed.

I have an idea of what I want in a machine, but there seem to be so many companies these days...

The Handiquilter machines say they are made in the US. Not regular sewing machines, though. But when you see the price of them, you will understand why most manufacturers make their goods in third world countries.

In reply to Vireya
Actually many quilting machines are no more (in fact much less) than the TOL sewing/embroidery machine today. I could get a sweet little Sweet 16 with table and stitch regulator way cheaper then most of the home sewing and embroidery TOL machines - BUT of course it is a one trick pony. But WHAT a trick!!!!
