I can get the bud part of the snap done correctly, but
I am having a miserable time with the other part of the snap.

I think I am putting the prongs and the ring in the setter correctly, but nothing stays together. Actually I did get one to stay in, but I think I have the snap in upside down. The bud won't go into it.

I have watched Nancy Z tutorial on SnapSource, two tutorials on YouTube, and read the instructions. Why am I having so much trouble with something so simple????

I am getting so frustrated because my bibs are all done except for the snaps. My grandson's first birthday is Thursday and I was hoping to get the snaps before then.

I will need to be more snaps due to my inability to do something so simple. What kind of snaps would you recommend that I can buy at JoAnn's or Hancock's.

Thanks for all your help!

Maybe it's not you; possibly you have a faulty set.

Yes, you're set could be faulty. Also, is your fabric too thick? I'm no expert with these things but also, are you giving a really good sharp tap at that final stage?

Hope you get it sorted. It's enough to drive you crazy.

Are you using Snapsource Snaps? If you are following the directions its hard to do this wrong. I have never had one mess up BUT I only use Snapsource Snaps. Call the Snapsource people. They are so nice and helpful. You can get the number off their website.

Did you make sure your Snap Source snaps are the same size as the tool? I have multiple size snaps and each has it's own tool. I also second that check the thickness of what you are setting.

I have way too many yards to count, and I will never use them up, but I will die trying!

There is a snap part that is really easy to put in upside down (I think it is the "female" part), their illustrations are not all that helpful, and it is difficult to even see which is the correct side because both sides look similar. I had to write notes all over the instruction sheets because I had a devil of a time figuring it out. Once I got it, they work fine.

I thought maybe the fabric was too thick, but then I was able to do half the snap, so I don' think that is the problem.

I am using one layer of denim and one layer of flannel.

Yep, I am definitely using the same size things. I emailed Snap Source quite a few times before I bought the tool. They picked out the right things for me.

I thought I might have it upside so I tried it both ways. LOL. I was able to get it to work upside down. LOL.
