Hi everyone,
Great forum and this is my first message. I make swimwear and im confused on what machine I need to buy. I would like an industrial machine (well it doesnt have to be industrial) that will do the two stitches lines on the top and insert the elastic on the underside. It is commonly used in swimwear seams. I have a binder but i am having trouble with the snapping of the cotton even though I have the Permacore brand.

I would really appreciate your help and time to make the right decision.

Thanks again,
Phillippa

It sounds to me that you need something that does a coverstitch. I wish I could be of more assistance, but I don't really know commerical machines.

Yup. You need an industrial coverstitch machine set up with an elasticator. You'll want a two or three needle (so that you can use a narrow or wide two needle stitch as well as a three needle stitch) with bottom cover.
