Why did I buy all of this thread? (Moderated by Sharon1952)

I'm rearranging my sewing room getting ready for a mini sewing marathon and found a bag of Maxi Lock stretch serger thread. I bought this a year or so and don't remember why?
Anybody out there use it for specific things?

I use it in the bobbin for twin needle hems and topstitching. It adds stretch and reduces the "tunnelling" effect.
It was mentioned recently in this blog. There are other comments around but that should help.
Edit - I probably should also mention that it works in the underloopers of overlockers (sergers).

I bought mine to use in the looper (and bobbin for twin needle) because it's cheaper than wooly nylon but it's not nearly as stretchy. I will probably stick with wooly nylon in the future for those purposes. I hadn't thought of using the stretch thread in the needle itself. Maybe I'll try that.

My serger dealer sells it as their version of wooly nylon-type thread that puffs up to give good coverage for things like rolled hems. :)
My only problem with it is that the cones look just like regular serger cones, making it hard to distinguish visually in the stash! (Of course, this would not be an issue if I only bought Maxi Lock serger thread; those cones look totally different. Ha!)

I use mine in the looper on my coverstitch machine. I've also used it in the loopers on my serger.
For a super easy swim coverup I took a two yard rectangle of poly chiffon and finished the edges with a rolled or narrow hem (can't remember which...its been a couple of years) on the serger with the stretch stuff in the loopers. It makes for a nice looking edge. Tie the rectangle of fabric on like a pareo (videos on youtube show multiple options) and off to the pool!
