I get all these emails for sales at different fabric places. The prices are awesome.

I KNOW I am not going to buy anything until my stash is used a little more. So why do I spend time looking at fabric I have no intention of buying?

Because it's fun. I don't think we are the only ones who do this.

For the same reason I look at machines online?

One way I've found to combat SMAD, or THRAD, or FAD (Fabric Acquisition Disorder?)--if you're looking for a "cure"--, is to build Pinterest boards of things I want to buy but absolutely do not need--machines, scissors, quilt patterns, fabric, etc. It satisfies a desire for me to collect these things, without my actually having to buy them. Saves space and $$$!

This must be a Syndrome of some kind. At the beginning of 2015 (I think) I unsubscribed from all those tempting sale emails.
That drastically cut down on my fabric purchases, but then my pattern acquisition rate just exploded.

Fun-yes it is!

It is so fun. My problem is usually that I find fabric that I adore and can never justify a pattern for it...or I find a pattern that I love, but no fabric is "quite right." OR I have extremely kind and generous friends who give me bolts of fabric because they know I'll use it.

I was so good for a while of tracking exactly what came in and what went out but right now I haven't been doing as well as I'd like. My eventual goal is to have everything in ONE SINGLE BASKET. Right now it's in the basket, the tub next to the basket, and slowly encroaching on the rest of the room, sneaking out of the basket or tub........ :O

I unsubscribed from emails too and it helped so much!! I'm back on a few, but it really helped to only see the fabric and/or patterns when I had to go looking for something specific.

I unsubscribed or do not open most of them. However, I do open all of the one's from Michael's Fabrics because when he has bundle sales they are worth the money to me even if I don't get them sewn in a timely manner.

I will admit that having a coffee while looking at fabrics online is one of the first things I do in the morning.

I have an artistic nature, so I guess it's the world of possibilities of fabric in its original state that makes my mind wander.
