I'm looking for a finished sew-in knit collar for polo shirts in grey. I've Googled and Googled and can't find any! I've found a couple of collars in random colors on ebay and two (jade green and yellow) on Nancy's Notions, but can't find anything in grey or even white or black. Do they just not make these anymore?

Example here

Here are some but the grays are pretty light:

Here are more grays from that seller but they've got a stripe on the edge:

There's one listed here in dark grey, but there's no photo:

Wawak doesn't have gray, but has black and white and a few other colors:

The ones on Zippershipper and Wawak are for bomber jackets, but the first two may work. Thank you!

I think my local Spotlight (Joanne type fabric store in Australia) has just started carrying them.

Another choice for you might be to make the collar and front placket in a woven. That is something I used to do when I could not find a suitable collar in knit.

If it can be done with a needle and thread, I can do it!

Yes, if I can't find one, that's what I'll do. I just prefer the knit polo collars. But either way, it'll get made!

They've kind of disappeared, as has good ribbing. Some of us remember the days of Stretch n' Sew shops with substantial knits, these collars, matching ribbing, and good classes.

Look in your Thrift stores for the upscale men's golf shirts, those from Golf Shops are greater quality/pricey. I've picked them just for the collars and sleeve ribbing for little boy's T's.

I second the idea to look at a thrift shop. That's my first stop when I need ribbing, a collar, a hook for a bathing suit top, or replacement things for repairing bras, purses, tote bag straps, etc. Faster than mail order and usually cheap!

Also fabulous buttons, lace/embroidery overlays from vintage dresses,
leather/suede for all kinds of things.
I got a denim blazer just for the 12 metal buttons to replace those on another jacket. They would have cost at least $2 each in the store, plus not as sturdy or cool as vintage ones.
