As I have said before I really need to stay off shopgoodwill.com (like that's going to happen ) I bought 2 machines Sunday. They arrived Thursday . 1 is a late model White more than likely one of the last Whites made .
I changed the needle adjusted the bobbin thread tension and it is a decent usable machine. I have $25.87 in this machine . The gem to me is a Brother VX-710 $3.00 + $13.83 shipping for a total of $16.83. This looks to me like an 80's machine. It isn't pretty , but has everything I need and nothing I don't . I threaded it up and it took off sewing like a new one .
I am running out of room with 8 sewing machines and 2 sergers

That's pretty amazing. Pretty soon you will have a side business selling what doesn't fit in your sewing room!

I have gotten 4 machines off good will that I have between $15.03 -$25.83 in All are working machines , I did go to $77 on my big blue and white White 782 . None have needed anything more than minor adjustment or repair.

Plumberroy, you have a bad case of SMAD (Sewing Machine Acquisition Disorder)! The good news is that you are in good company on this site, and congratulations for scoring these machines at such low prices. Would love to see a photo of them!

Sew Libra is right: you got SMAD ... but you're not alone on this

On the other hand, for the price you paid it doesn't cost you much. So you can continue your hunt for good bargains.

Yeh I am pretty good at feeding my SMAD on the cheap. I figure that if some one was in need of a sewing machine and didn't have much , I can give them one. I usually have an extra bicycle, bible, or single shot shotgun around incase someone is in need might as well add sewing machine to that list

Thanks to you, Plumberroy, I just jumped into the ring for a fairly complete looking Bernina Record. We'll see how it goes.
