On return from a trip to the United States, we are trying to fit in AQS Quilt Week in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. How many days do you think I should allot to this? Is it a nice show?
I'm excited about this opportunity.

Bumping ‘cause I’m curious, too.

I attended this show some years ago with a quilting friend (I don't quilt) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I just looked it up on line and workshops, vendors and instructors were mentioned, etc. so I would allow at least two days. That's beautiful country there and a lot to see (and eat) if you have extra time. Enjoy!

I attend this show every year. It has a terrific merchants mall. I met Deb Tucker at the Studio 180 booth. I usually spend the morning in the mall. Then have lunch. After lunch I view the quilt displays. Then I head over to Intercourse Pa to The Old Country Store that stays open late for the show crowd. Check them out on line. Intercourse has a few other fabric stores but I still have not made it to them. Across from the Old Country Store is a quaint village of stores selling anything from candles, art work, home made jellies and jams, clothing, quilts and much more. I could spend more than a day but only live an hour away and since my husband attends with me and takes the day off I do not push it. I appreciate he goes with me. I think he keeps me in check LOL. Hope this helps.

We are actually spending a few days there. I just didn't know how many days to allot to seeing the quilt show. I've never been to an AQS show so didn't know how big, how many exhibits etc.
I'm pretty excited about going there. Thanks for your input.

Do most of the shops stay open late for Quilt Week? That opens other possibilities.

I cannot tell you about the AQS Quilt Week show, but encourage you to make a day trip over to Intercourse and Bird-In-Hand, which are just east of Lancaster, if you have time in your itinerary. This is Amish country and these small towns are lovely to visit.

If you will be in the Poconos at any point and are interested in machine-browsing, Pocono Sew and Vac is wonderful. I haven't been there in person but have bought two machines and assorted notions from them by phone in the past--great service, excellent pricing, many brands, etc. Multiple PR members are fans of them as well. No affiliation, etc., I'm just a fan and would love it if you visited them in person so I can live my dreams vicariously through you, haha
Edited to add: Actually, they do go to AQS Quilt Week, so you can visit them even without going to the store in Stroudsburg. Lucky duck

I believe one of our PR members works there, but not sure so I won't mention a name.
ETA: We have friends in that area that we used to visit quite often . . . . . then we moved away
