Where can I find some? (Moderated by Sharon1952)

I'm looking for some striped sporty type ribbon. I don't know the name of the material it's made of, but I don't think it was grosgrain. I think it's stretchy and has the football jersey type of feel to it. (I'm terrible with naming/identifying fabrics) Joann's used to carry it but they don't stock it anymore. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and what the official name of it is and where I can find it? I tried mjtrim but couldn't find it, unless it's under a different name.

I'd be interested in this too. My DH has been bugging me about making him some pullovers and he has alllll kinds of ideas about trim details.

I think it's called Athletic trim or athletic ribbon. I've been searching all over for examples and this is what I can come up with:

Does anyone know where I can get some?

MJTrim has some, but they only have one choice for colors. Grey, light blue, and white might not be what you are looking for. Ebay has some Red, white and blue American flag stuff. That's not much of a selction. Perhaps you can find more by searching for flat stretch trim.

Patty, I saw that one in MJTrim, but it's not in the colors I wanted. Thank you for looking.
I think I found some sources. After hours of searching, I found a couple of places that wanted a mininum of 25 and 30 yards. I only need about 3 yards.
I found another place that has no minumum. In case anyone is wondering, it's www.teamworkathletic.com and then click on accessories.
Sewlily, I hope this is what you were looking for also. I called them up and they were really nice. I haven't ordered yet as I can't decide which color combination I want.
BTW, I think they keywords to search for were 'athletic braid trim' or some variation of that.

I got it at an auction a few months back - a sports uniform manufacturing plant was liquidating .
Anywho, if I have the color you are looking for, I am willing to share foc. You said you only need a few yards, right.
Pm me as to what color you want

Sourcing athletic trim is the bane of my existence. FYI, Teamwork Athletic only sells to businesses, not individuals. I'd be happy to be the middle man though if anybody has a need. I buy most of my blank uniforms from them.
Has anyone seen 1/4" royal blue athletic trim? I've been looking for it for *years*. I do about 100 uniforms for a local league per year that require it. For the last few years I have been making it myself out of polyester knit. Blech.
