I am looking for a recipe which I had seen in a magazine years ago, for ice cream made with Pet Brand Evaporated Milk. It was a very simple recipe, if I recall correctly, just a few ingredients that were mixed together, put into a container and into the freezer. I have several recipes which use Sweetened Condensed Milk, but I would still like to give this one another try. Anyone out there ever hear of it?

Try the website CrunchyCreamySweet. There is an amazingly easy ice cream recipe using evaporated milk.

I have been making fresh strawberry ice cream with real whipping cream, without an ice cream maker, for over 40 years. I found the recipe in a children's Owl magazine.

1 cup ripe mashed strawberries
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup whipping cream, whipped

Sounds like you want a real ice cream recipe, but...have you ever tried nice-cream made with frozen bananas? It's tasty and healthy because it's basically frozen fruit. Most instructions call for a little bit of a sweetener but I don't use anything other than the fruit.
Nice cream

Edited to add: Here's what you might be actually looking for.

Sooo this is not the recipe asked for but we just made malted milk ball ice cream and it was amazing. Just use your regular vanilla recipe add powdered malt and chopped up malted milk balls. Yum!

I looked on the Pet Evaporated Milk site and had no luck. The one recipe I saw required an ice cream freezer.

Thank you, though, for asking. Your post reminded me I wanted to find the simple recipe I had seen years ago for bourbon ice cream. I found something that seems pretty close, if not the one. Bourbon ice cream with caramel sauce...yum!

Is there more to this recipe -- i.e. instructions, what to freeze it in and for how long?
