Those of you out there that like little French jackets and enjoy Linton Tweeds might like to know about a new fun thing they have started. Every Tuesday and Friday at 1 pm UK time ( that’s 8 am fir me on EST) they introduce new couture weaves in limited quantities. They have a countdown clock for it. People all over seem to be figuring it out and ready at time zero because this week one of them sold out in 15 minutes! There’s no point swatching for these, as they are gone within a couple of days if not right away. I think they must have gotten a new designer or something as the ones that sell out are stupendous. You can’t really go in their site and see those as they are gone already. I got my yardage of my most desired one but I love to watch them introduced.
The picture is my new one- hard to see but it has tiny sequins randomly sewn in for a tiny touch of sparkle in the light.

Thank you, I think so too! I love this little company, super nice people trying to do ok during the pandemic. I think this new strategy is working for them. Their countdown clock was wrong initially as did not account for time zone differences, and I missed this fabric first time around due to it and was crushed. Emailed Linton to tell them they had a clock glitch and told them to give their designers kudos and a bonus The president if Linton wrote me back ( how’s that for customer service!) fixed the clock , and reissued 30 yards of my fabric the next time, which sold out in half an hour, but I was ready!

Yours is gorgeous. Thank you for telling us about the Tues and Fri events, a great reason to be up early.

Thanks for the heads up. Love this company too, and have two lengths in my stash for skirts. I was perfecting my pattern with inferior fabric when I stopped working in an office. Not sure what I’ll do with those 1m lengths now but I love them so much they’re not going anywhere!

For the last few weeks, I’ve been watching the count down and seeing the new fabrics, without any plan to purchase, just because I love to see them! I have been considering making a French style jacket, just so I can use some of the fabric.

So exciting that you got some! It’s a beautiful one.

It’s amazing, the new ones, isn’t it?! I check twice a week ( 8 am is right when I get in my car to head to work so I sign in while my car warms up ) . I started doing screen shots of the ones I love best because they are frequently sold out by the time I get to work 45 minutes later, and my staff love to see them but if sold out they are gone from the site. I think it is very smart marketing.
