Is there a way to do this? (Moderated by Sharon1952)

I hope this is the right place to ask this question.
Sometimes I just want to see patterns that have been a solid home run for many people. I would love to be able to query PR to see a list of all reviews sorted by number of reviews.
I thought I found a way to do it but the first pattern that came up only had 4 reviews. I know some patterns have had more reviews than that.
Am I the only one? And is there a way to do it?

My guess is it might be a Jalie Pattern.
Maybe the Elenore’s or one of their earlier shirts, like the sweetheart neckline shirt.
Now I’m curious too!

I was a software developer before I retired. I would love to have at the database with SQL code.
Seriously, I think it would be a money maker too. I know some patterns have been reviewed dozens of times. There's a reason - they are keepers! A lot of us would like to grab them before they are no longer available.
I realize Hall of Fame patterns meet some of this need. But I want hard data. Give us a list of patterns with number of views sorted by the most views to the fewest. And give us a way to run that report on demand instead of having to wait for the annual list.

I think there are Best of PR posts each year and I believe those are the most popular patterns. Maybe it’s the patterns that have had best results? If you check the blog you should be able to find them.

I checked those thinking the same thing. They haven’t been updated since 2018 so this may be a practice that has fallen by the wayside, but would still be valuable as it is done in categories, and styles no longer change much.

I still don't think a yearly update is enough. If you could pull up the reviews and sort by the number of reviews on any day of the year, it would be helpful.
Over time, the same patterns will be at the top. I think the real interest will be after you scroll down a page or two.
Newcomers will get to find to find the solid gold patterns immediately. Regular PR readers may enjoy scrolling down to see what new patterns are working their way to the top.
We'll all find gems and probably buy even more patterns than we do now.

I truly love PR but when I want to see how popular a pattern is ( or how many people have attempted it), I check Instagram.
I think user demographics will skew both searches.

When I see your posts and reviews, you strike me as an attractive, stylish person. I'm guessing you see pictures pop up and you get a sense for what's trending.
I'm talking about a simple query of hard data. You know something for ugly nerds! :D
Seriously, your approach is great. I think mine is too. Mine wouldn't capture the latest styles but would be an easy way to find oldies but goodies. And I wouldn't even ask, except that I have a feeling if we can search for all reviews in the category "tops" (and we can) then sorting by number of reviews is probably not that difficult.

I would also love to be able to sort my pattern stash by number of reviews, but not for the most reviewed -- for the never reviewed! I always feel sorry for those patterns & want to make them up 😂😂
