I am preparing a press release for PR announcing 50,000 members on the site. I'd like to include some comments from members in this press release. So if you have any testimonials/comments on how PatternReview.com has helped you in your sewing, I'd love to hear those. You can just post on this topic.

PR is valuable to me because I can look at other members results and observations and weigh the potential usefulness of a pattern for my needs.

I absolutely love this website! There is so much you can learn here by just looking around. I have become pickier about my pattern purchases, found out about pattern companies I was not even aware of, found support and help from other members, and I am now about to take my first online class. There are beginners and experts alike here and there is so much we have learned from each other. I find myself looking at the website several times a day. I am so glad that patternreview.com exists and everytime I talk with someone about sewing I recommend this site to them.

Hi Deepika,

Although I have only posted on or two reviews (I do not have any way to take photos or post them and I realize that viewers prefer reviews with photos), I do participate in the message board and read posted reviews.

Pattern Review has intrduced me to many indy pattern lines of which I had not heard. As well as online fabric, notion and supply sources both here in Canada and the USA.

I was already a committed Burda (WoF and printer pattern) and Kwik Sew enthusiast. I had given up on the Big 4 years ago when I could not find current designs for boys.

I have learned how to address fitting issues from the wonderful people who contribute regularly. FBA, sway back and more. Debbie Cook is a similar shape to me. Her detailed diagrams and photos have better explained how to make these adjustments than several sewing/fitting books.

I also love to see how supportive the group has been to each other through sickness, deaths, births, divorce, weddings and more. We can talk about our favourite hobby, rebellious teens and loving cats.

If I cannot connect with my girlfriends at home, I know there will be someone online willing to lend an ear, suggest a pattern or help fix an opps.

Becoming a Pattern Review member has made my sewing world expand. I have learned countless sewing techniques, tried pattern companies I had never heard of, bought fabric from around the globe, and made new friends who share my interests. Thanks Pattern Reveiw and congratulations on 50,000 members!

I can recall the very beginnings of PR, but never would have imagined what an invaluable resource it would become to the worldwide sewing community. Not only does it provide excellent comments, reviews, "teaching" threads and classes, but has created a diverse community of craftpersons.

The encouragement and information I've gotten from PR has helped me feel more comfortable trying new techniques and learning from my mistakes. Following the sewing and fitting challenges of others has assisted me in honing my own sewing skills. Through PR, I also have become aware of some really great patterns, sewing notions and equipment. In fact, I selected the serger I did - and gained the confidence to feel as if I could learn to use it - based upon reviews and comments from PRs.

PR continues to be a dynamic place for sewers of all levels and interests to meet and converse. I can't think of another place like it!! Thanks Deepika for your vision and staminathrough it all.

When I stumbled upon PR, I was searching for more information on patterns. What I found was much more than information on a single pattern-- a comprehensive database of thousands of pattern reviews, and message boards offering any kind of sewing assistance needed.

I've been a member of the site for just over a year, and my sewing skills have increased tenfold.

I absolutely love PR. I think it helps to relieve the isolation that sewists often feel. The site has something for everyone, from the very beginner to the advanced sewist.

I think in many ways, PR is the cyberspace equivalent of the old-fashioned sewing circle--women coming together to sew and to share, to chat and to commiserate, and to plan and to practice.

I've learned tips from other sewers, learned what others think of various patterns they have made, what to look for in a sewing machine as well as what notions are a must.

Very informative, helpful and diverse website. You meet sew-ers of every level and learn something all the time. The online classes are first rate, easy to follow and extremely thorough and well-thought through. This site is a link to all your sewing needs: skills, fabric, notions, patterns, knowledge, friends, ideas, notions, equipment; any all all sewing related sources, and then some.

PR takes the guess work out of a pattern. You can view a majority of patterns and the results made by real people with real bodies and real fitting issues. You learn what they modified, if anything, and how the pattern could relate to your own needs. Because of this fact alone, I think more people are becoming interested in sewing because there are fewer mistakes and frustrations with patterns and less guessing about whether or not a pattern will work.

This site is a huge resource for any seamstress, pattern maker, fabric company, vendor ... anyone interested in the sewing world!
