I have Libby but have already passed my 6 books a month rental. I share with my granddaughter and there were 2 books we returned immediately but they counted them.
Are there any other apps where I can listen to books for free? I mainly listen in the car because my radio is broke. I listen, too, when I'm cleaning.
I do have Amazon Prime so I guess I can look there, too. Not sure how that works yet.

Hoopla is another common library app. They tend to have older titles, rather than the newest releases. This has been a nice feature when I learn of a new series, and want to read them starting at the beginning of the series. Check HERE to see if your library offers this service.

So many books, so little time; and even more fabric, and even less time

There is LibriVox. It is free public domain books. Realize that it is just volunteers and not professionally done.
If you are wanting something different- there is Relic Radio. It streams old time radio shows.

I believe the kindle and Kobo aps are free. If you sign up for BookBub they will send you a list each day with free or greatly reduced ebooks and audiobooks. I personally have not purchased an audiobook other than my public library but I have found many ebooks through BookBub.

I use our local library where ebook and e audio book loans are free. The library uses Libby and Borrowbox apps

If your granddaughter doesn’t have a library card have her get one which will addd six books to your monthly limit. Check other libraries in your area to see if you can get cards from them and expand your borrowing limits. You can add multiple library cards to Libby.

Check with your library to see what electronic lending systems they subscribe to. Hoopla and Overdrive seem to be very popular, but when I was thinking of getting a Kindle for my mom and mother-in-law, I found another system that one of their libraries used.
I don't think I'd have survived the Covid lockdowns as well as I did without the e-lending of audiobooks and e-books through my library.

Hoopla was actually the one I was thinking about. I like reading them back to back, too. That way, I don't forget what's going on in the story because I've moved on to something else.

I've not heard of LibriVox. Thanks for the recommendations.
