Hello everyone - my Juki TL2300 automatic thread trimmer is leaving my bobbin tails too short to be picked up by the top thread when I start sewing again.
I know that there is a way to adjust the length but I cannot for the life of me remember where it is!

The only thing I can remember is that it's a knob or dial that has another function and it's not in the manual - I came across it on a forum or YT video I think. I wish I had written it down...

Does anyone with a Juki know what I'm talking about? I think all the TL and mini Q series have the same trick.

Is the cutter clean? Have you cleaned the blades? Is the underside of the needleplate clean? Alignment of cutter head ok?

Is the thread size Tex 30 or more?

Is the top tension too tight?

Thanks Kayl - no to all of these things unfortunately, and the machine is very new, just not used it for a while. I definitely remember that it can be adjusted and as insane as it sounds I think it's the subtension knob which does it. I've had a fiddle with it and it seems to have resolved (I hope!). Still very interested to hear if any TL owners know what I'm talking about!

I do not have experience with your particular machine, but from info online, I read the bobbin thread does not need to be pulled up when using the automatic thread trimmer...just begin to sew. Is there a specific section in your machine's manual about sewing with the short bobbin threads? I have a brother sewing machine that has a manual thread trimmer which cuts the bobbin thread very short and the intention is not to pull up the bobbin thread.

I am trying to acquire a Juki TL2300 on the US market but am not finding them anywhere. If you don't mind, did you purchase yours in the US or outside the country. I find it odd that it seems to be widely available in the UK but not here and I'm in a major city to boot. Thanks
