I am posting here instead of telling the spouse about this mishap because you all will understand and he will only laugh.

I just drew myself a bath and planned to spend a little time soaking and flipping through my BWOF binder (the one with the copies of the styles-at-a-glace pages...and all my notes....) Well, the nautical look must be in, because the darn thing lept out of my hands and into the tub. It was soaked. The ink all ran, so I don't have the option of drying them out and just living with wavy pages.

So now I need to scan them all again...right after I buy some of those plastic page protectors.

I totally understand. How awful!!!. It's going to be a bother scanning the pages again, but things could have been worse. Your BWOFs could have dropped in the tub!

I have done this so many times. Just the other day I dropped a magazine in the pedicure basin at the salon. How embarrassing!

I am glad it wasn't the patterns you dropped in. :)

Oh Robyn ~ I am soooo sorry! All that hard work just ruined. Hopefully as you recreate the binder you will learn some new tips to add to it. And I totally understand about the DH, they just don't get it!

Next time you need a new printer, consider an Epson. Their DuraBrite ink really doesn't run the way most inks do.

I feel for you, but as the others said - at least it wasn't something irreplacable like the pattern sheets!

And did you notice that no one thought flipping through Burda WOF info in the bath was at all unusual? I think I'll go and buy some plastic page protectors and hit the copy machine!

Oooo a warm bath and a Burda WOF. Sounds *wonderful*, especially this bone-chilling weekend.

Thanks for commiserating, y'all. I got half of the collection scanned last night, so I'm not feeling quite as sorry for myself. I wish I could laminate all my books, too. Reading material is my rubber duckie...it's only a matter of time before I drop something else.

Sheet protectors are a great idea! I've read in the tub exactly once: when I went to turn the page, I realized I would be getting the pages all wet with my prune-y fingers.

Great idea to scan those pages, too. I only have 1 BWOF at the moment, but if I expand my collection (I'm sure it's only a matter of time), this is a great way to keep them straight!

Sorry you had to rescan all your pages, though. Have you considered storing the files of the scanned images, so in case of another tub incident, all you have to do is print? I've used laminating sheets on things before too.

Where did all this fabric come from? I CAN'T have bought THAT much!
