I checked the reviews and they're not there, but I think a lot of folks have them. Am finally going to get a dummy, so would really appreciate a review.
I've read all the threads on getting a smaller one and "fillin' her up", so I just wonder about how sturdy they are, how easy the dials are, anything else I can't think of.........
TIA,
Nina

Nina,
Did you read through this thread:
PR Dress Forms
I think there is some discussion on the dressforms you mentioned. Also Vogue Pattern magazine has an article in the June/July2006 issue that just came out.
HTH,
Linda
ETA: Oops, I just reread your message. You did read all the other PR discussions. Sorry. Check out the article in the magazine and see if that helps.

Hi, Nina. I haven't had mine long enough to feel like I can write a real review, but I have the My Double Deluxe and I do really like it. You can adjust the back waist length, which is great since I'm just shy of 5'3". It's not easy to adjust that measurement (you wouldn't want to go back and forth on a regular basis) but it does adjust well so that the distance from shoulders to hips is actually correct! Yay!
You can also fit pants on it, which really does work (I even took my best-fitting Burda pair andn put them on it...fits just like on me!) and the dials and everything are easy to adjust. The pincushion pops out annoyingly. Overall, it seems durable but I've had a bad sewing year...dealing with a loss..so I haven't given it much of a workout. My 6-year-old hasn't managed to break it yet, though, and she likes to fit homemade princess dresses on it, so I suppose that is saying something! Good luck!

I recently purchased the My Double, from a JoAnn (liquidation sell- 40% off), and the dials are a pain. You might want to shop around; shortly after I got my dressform I noticed that Hancock sells them for less.
Good Luck!

Back to waist measurement--just exactly where do I measure from/to?

Put on a thin chain neckline. Measure from where it falls on your back neck to your actual waist (where you bend from side to side), not where you may way your pants/skirts lower or higher.

Thanks all - I'm gonna go for the MDD. Debbie, I knew you'd just bought one from your thread, so thanks for the excellent review -- rubber gloves for sure!
BTW, there are also review of these on the Joanns site and they are nix on the MD and 90% positive on the MDD - FWIW

Re: Where is Simplicity dress form website? (posted on 5/4/06 6:59 PM ET)
I have found websites for Twin Fit, Dritz, Fabulous Fit, and Singer, but not for Simplicity dress forms. Can someone please point the way to a Simplicity dress form? Thank you.
