nickle and brass rivets on jeans (Moderated by Deepika, EleanorSews)

I'm trying to think of a way to deal with this problem that doesn't involve lining, granny panties or 24 k gold rivets.

Sometimes it just goes away - - I had this problem in my teens and early 20's, especially when I was under stress. Haven't had a problem since I was 30.
You might try using clear nail polish to cover up the rivets.

A little muslin patch laid down with quick whipstitch might take care of it also.

I have it off and on--can't wear jewelry, either.

And if you're sensitive to nail polish, try a dab of liquid floor polish/wax applied with a cotton swab.

nail polish has worked for me on jewelry, but you'll probably have to replace it more frequently after washing clothes.

I use nail polish on jewerly too. I like the idea of a small piece of muslin. I wonder if I could glue it on and what kind of glue might work.

Probably contact cement, but seems like that would cause just as many problems. But maybe not.

I'm wondering about pieces of leather. At least the glue wouldn't bleed through as it might with muslin.

I've done this on a couple pairs of pants with buttons/rivets that hit on my hipbones. It's kind of awkward sewing, but it works!
