I'm looking for high-quality corduroy, fine wale for skirts. I'd love some neat prints, like modern geometrics or large funky florals. (No country or Litte House on the Prairie) Has anyone found anything like that online? I do have JoAnn, the only store I haven't checked yet, in my area. Hancock had nothing inspiring.

Thanks for any online suggestions you might have! (I'm in the Sacramento area for anyone who has store suggestions)

Hi, neighbor just down the road! You're discouraging me if they don't even have decent fabric stores in Sacramento, I thought the problem here was that they wanted us all to drive over the hill!

How funky?

found on eBay

www.lucysfabrics.com has a few baby-wale stretch corduroys right now. I bought the "hippie floral" a few weeks ago, and it's only minimal stretch, so it would be fine for shirts.

Here's an example from reprodepot.com. I'm not sure if it's finewale or not.

It was in the "60's" fabrics--this print was in other colors too. 1960's style cord

I ordered some florals from Sewzanne's the other day for my little girl. Most were little girly, but there was a large scale mauve and brown stretch fine cord.

A few weeks ago, I bought some dark green paisley cordoroy that washed up very nicely from JoAnn, so you could check there since you haven't already. I was going to make a skirt out of it, but I like your idea of a shirt.

Just to be obnoxious...

Corduroy shirts seem a bit Little House on the Prarie! Or maybe Annie Oakley.

Yes, I agree that cord shirts are LHP! That's why I want fine wale for sKirts!

Just to be obnoxious in return... hee hee!

Here's the skirt I want to make. Very UN-Little House, no?

Thanks for all the great suggestions and I'll go check them out!
