Oh Brother! (Moderated by Sharon1952, EleanorSews)

I have a recently purchased Brother XL3500. I clean it regularly, but I really do not know how to oil it. There are no instructions in the manual on how to do this. Does anyone have any knowledge on how to oil this type of machine, or does it not need oiling? There aren't any obvious pieces that I can unscrew in order to get to the moving parts inside.

Most manuals will tell you whether the machine needs oiling or not.
I googled this machine and it looks pretty new and mechanical. Doubt it needs oiling.

It is pretty safe to remove the cover over the needle bar area. It is a good idea to do this once in a while to brush out the dust and lint. Any place that you see 2 pieces of metal that move and have contact with each over, you can put ONE drop of oil without causing any harm.
You can also send an email off to Brother or asked you local dealer.
