the last 2 Simplicity patterns I've purchased at the JoAanne sales have been so lightthat i've been barely able to read them. I s this a cost cutting technique..saving money on ink? Or am I just a bad pattern picker?

I've had that problem a LOT with Vogue and Butterick...not so much with Simplicity...but it does happen. A few Vogues I had to return to Hancock's. They were UNREADABLE...and forget tracing them. The old eyes just can't take it these days.

Simplicity has shown itself fairly responsive to customer feedback, in my recent experience. I'd go to their site and look for the contact info, and then tell them about your too-pale patterns. I suspect you could get a replacement free.

I haven't had the problem that you're describing.

My problem seems to be that no matter which pattern i'm using, if I have to trace, it's going to be the thinnest, lightest line on the pattern sheet. It's really bad with KS. No matter what size i'm using, it's always the light grey line I need to trace.

Of course, this has nothing to do with your problem, I just thought I would share.
