I was beginning to wonder when that boat will ever dock our shore. But finally, it arrived at Kinokuniya.

Here are pictures, just a few to whet your appetite.

My friend and I went downtown and bought our copies, had lunch together, shopped for fabric at (well, she did the buying while I just browsed since I already reached my spending limit for the day), and just had a marvelous time. Don't let the entrance of the store fool you... lots of goodies inside!

I'm so jealous of you, getting to shop there!

Re: Misses Stylebook Issue #145 (posted on 5/22/07 8:54 PM ET)
Hmm, I think I like that magazine. The models are built closer to me than most (who have larger busts). My hips are bigger, but other than that...

I like the wrap dress on the 'more pictures' page.

Oooh, those blouses are really pretty. Have you drafted a sloper?

Ah, the Pac Fab outlet... love that place!

Yes, I have! And it fits great! I just used the sloper pattern and gave myself a break from the complicated formulas. (This is my 3rd go with the Stylebook sloper BTW.)

I have a picture of my sloper at Tamyu's forum. After I have a friend take a closer look at it, I'll post more details at my blog.

I feel that I am going to buy this edition also -- just for teh sloper. Maybe I'll actually make something too.

Ooh, gorgeous! Where do you buy this? Is it only in Japanese?

Question -- what size range do the designs come in? Those numbers are so cute, but I wonder if they can be sized up to my queenly proportions.

I am so excited, I ordered one last week, and its this issue!
(Thanks to Twisted Angel's link)
You know how sometimes you see something made up and you think, OH! GORGEOUS! And then you look at the pattern, and its really nothing, it was the fabric?
It appears that this one is the fabric AND the pattern!

I would like to find out more. I saw that Simple Japanese book on ebay, but remembered I did not like the American Simple at all. I didn't want to spend all that money on a dud--being overseas shipping and all that. But issue 145, what a score!
I will have to start reading your forum over there, and see what other books are good.

You can purchase a single issue or a one year subscription from Sasuga Japanese Bookstore.

I finally bought a subscription from Kinokuniya. You can also purchase an issue from them and have them send it to your house. Here's their home page.

Let me forewarn you though that I often have a difficult time trying to ask for "Misses' Stylebook" over the phone. I suggest purchasing your issue from Sasuga Japanese Bookstore from the link above.
