I would love to have an opinion. I have just tried a demo of SewWhatPro and I like it, but I hear a lot about Embird. Which software for basic editing, catagorizing, and sizing is the best and easiest? Does it have a good manual? Thank you for your opinions.

I'm not familiar with SewWhatPro so can't comment on that software. I do own Embird, and while I wouldn't rate it as "easy", a lot of people probably would. It has so many options and functions that, for me, it did (and still does) take some time to learn about all of it and then practice using it. Embird is not sold in a software package but you can download their free tutorial or you can buy it, I think, on CD and then there is the Carolyn Keber tutorial that is available for purchase on the Secrets of Embrodiery site. The basic Embird does a lot but there are also additional plug-ins, for an additional price, that you can purchase.
ETA: Embird also has a free demo available, good for 30 days or 100 uses, I believe. You might consider trying it out before making your decision on which is most to your liking and skill level.
