Slumping dollar impact (Moderated by Sharon1952, EleanorSews)

This really won't be news to anyone who follows the economy ... which would be anyone who goes to the grocery store! I bought a Bernina foot at Puyallup and the price, even with the 20% discount, was stunning. Yes, I bought it anyway.
I was at my local Bernina dealer yesterday and, because they have older stock, the same foot was $20 cheaper and they are having a 20% off sale next week. Yikes! The owner said that the wholesale price increase on Bernina was 23% so anything new will be even more expensive. So I'm buying any of the feet that I have been thinking about. (not willing to wait for the dollar to rebound) I'm posting this in the spirit of enabling anyone else who might be in the same boat -- hey! I need company here!

Eek, indeed!
Those Bernina feet were pricey already. Only bad thing about Bernina machines. At least I wasn't lusting after any new feet! But thanks for the heads-up.

I'm stunned. Our prices here in Canada were so high already for Bernina items that I hate to think about what it will cost now. Last time I bought a new foot was last Fall. I will have to go to the Bernina store here in town and check the prices out. I'm not happy at all.

Sheesh! Thanks for the tip! I'll have to visit our local dealer and see if there are any feet in stock I can pick up too. Probably not though...the ones I want they normally have to order. Shoot.

I have a couple of feet on my wish list -- I guess I should see if my local dealer has them.

Good to know! I'm taking my machine in today to have the automatic buttonholer fixed so I'll mosey on over to the feet and check them out. There are some I don't have yet!
