Sense and Sensibility to be shown this Sun. and Mon. (Moderated by Deepika, EleanorSews)
Posted on: 4/2/08 5:46 PM ET
If you live in the WNED-TV area in Southern Ontario/ Western New York and tuned in last Sunday to watch Sense and Sensibility, you were probably annoyed to discover it wasn't on, except on the HD channel and/or perhaps in the wee hours of the morning. I complained about this -- so did hundreds of other people. Today I got a call from the poor soul who's had to answer all these angry calls. She says they're going to show Sense and Sensibility this coming Sunday (Part I) and Monday (Part II), 9-10:30 p.m., I believe. They're also showing the whole thing back-to-back in the wee hours Monday (? or Tuesday?) at 1:30 a.m. I asked her why they'd neglected to show it at the original scheduled time, and she hinted that it was an executive decision. Reading between the lines, I think it was a way of trying to keep "pledge night" free for dumb pledge-y "specials" -- I told her what I and most of the people I've talked to say about this kind of pledge drive, where they either show dorky shows or show good shows and interrupt them about every ten minutes (I actually timed it once). I think she's going to pass on this feedback, but I KNOW she's going to pass on the feedback she's been getting about last Sunday night's missing episode of S&S.
