I mentioned in the middle of a different thread my six year old son's cancer diagnosis. Some kind souls offered prayers and support and I thank you for those! I wanted to let you know how things were going...

Charlie had his left kidney and large accompanying tumor removed in the middle of August. He recovered surprisingly quickly from it and had a week and a half of radiation right before school started.

Charlie started first grade today. He had a great day and is snacking on the couch with his snuggle blanket at the moment. He has lost weight and will have chemo for several months to take care of the crumbs, but his "football" (yes, it was) is O U T!

Didn't want to leave anybody hanging. We still worry-in-advance about illnesses, but right now we are in a good spot. Thanks for your prayers!

Oh, Kris. I missed the other thread, but I'm thrilled that things went so well for your family. I'll keep you in my thoughts and continue to hope that things go well.

I didn't see the other thread either but am happy to hear that things are going well for your son -- what a tough little guy he is.

Kris, I'm happy to hear he has made it though this event. I hope that will be the end of it. Our little ones shouldn't have to go through so much so young. Give him a hug for me.

Oh yes, you *are* in a good spot now. So glad to hear everything is going well for him. He *will* recover and be a healthy little boy. Kids are amazingly resilient. Before you know it he'll be in high school and you'll be attending his sports events.

I hope you're doing okay. Oh my, the stress you've been under. Keep hanging in there. God bless all of you. Many 's.

Edited for spelling

I have a six year old son who just started first grade today. I can't even imagine dealing with what you all had to deal with. I'm so glad to hear that he is on the mend and doing well!

Thanks for taking the time to let us know how he's doing. You have a very tough little guy there! Congratulations on his resilience and on his first day of first grade.
