Anyone know how much space is to the right of the needle? (Moderated by Sharon1952, EleanorSews)

Anyone have a tape measure handy?
One dealer I just talked to said the amount of space to the right of the needle on both the Viking Designer SE and SE limited edition is only six inches. Boy, that seems awfully small. In contrast, I called a Bernina dealer, and she said on the 730E the amount of space to the right of the needle was 7 3/4 inches. My old New Home sewing machine has over 7 inches and I just can't believe that the Viking machines would have a smaller area. Does anyone know for sure on these Vikings? Thanks!

My Viking Interlude also has about 7 and 1/4 inches. I really thought the SE was larger.
Here I thought my Brother Innovis was really a lot larger but it is only just short of 8 inches. It is larger to the back of the bed the way the base juts out and it is also has a wider bed so I guess that is why it seems so much larger to me compared to my other machines.

Thanks so much for the info, folks. With that important information about the amount of room to the right of the needed, I've definitely decided to buy the Viking Designer SE.
