Did you all know that Pottery Barn sells yardage or am I the last one to find out about it?

yes, and I've purchased some too. The blue ticking fabric made a fun jacket. I did a review of it here

Cute jacket! I would never have thought of using ticking that way.

Raise my hand for a question???? I keep looking at different fabrics that are home dec but look like they might be great jackets. This Pottery Barn posting makes me ask those of you who have sewn these types of fabrics: Do you go ahead and pre-wash the fabric like it was a Fashion Fabric?

Curious minds wanna know

yes, I prewash everything! and usually dry it also. although I rarely put a finished garment in the dryer, but in the prewash phase, it all gets washed and dried.
I don't want to send anything to the cleaners. I have never had any problems with washing home dec fabrics. I do think some home dec has a sorta coated backing, but that would be way too stiff for clothing anyway. I washed my blue ticking fabric and it didn't shrink much, if at all, and came out nice.
