Ack!
I resisted the cranberry although I almost got it, but I couldn't pass on the black.
And I got a few bundles while I was at it. I've never gotten the bundles, and I know there will probably be fabric I don't like in it, but I could use some decent muslin-use fabric so I decided to go with it.
I've been so good about not buying fabric, I guess I don't feel toooooo bad.
ETA: I'm having buyers regret. I should have gotten the cranberry as well.

With a great wardrobe that's still in the flat-fabric stage.

This is the worst sort of enabling and I fell for it. I have never seen 4 ply silk at that price and I went for it and then shopped so much that I qualified for a free 10 yard bundle.

Yeah, me too!
- 12 yards on it's way. I skipped the free bundle, though.

I passed on the black (have recently bought other black fabric((swiss babywale cotton pique, Jasco's jersey from CandlelightValley's closeout, and some heavier cotton twill), but I got 4 yds of the cranberry, and 5.5 of the seafoam. I figure on making a warmer weather pants/jacket combo the seafoam, have no idea about the cranberry, but I just could not pass up this price. I like the apricot, but it is not a color for me, wish I were a dark brunette.

Did anyone notice that they also have wool challis at $30 a yard! Lovely, lovely stuff. I'm keeping my hands clenched so hard to keep from ordering that my knuckles are white!

My 6 yards of the 4 ply black has already gone through the washer and dryer. It's fabulous stuff... Now I've got to go back through my notes I've saved on sewing it... Pants, for sure.
What are your plans for it? Got a pattern picked out?

Ooh, tell me a little more so I can daydream -- what is the weight like? How did you wash it?
Pants for sure for me. I am thinking something like the Sewing Workshop's Plaza Pants, though I will have to grade up my current tracing
. It's mostly about pants for me.
ETA: And it is now all sold out! Thanks to PatternReview, no doubt.
ETA again - the black is sold out. The other colors remain.

I saw that but I've never worked with 4 ply silk. FFC has some on sale too, I think.
What is it like? Is it flowy or crisp?

Here is a description from Silk Road Fabrics -
4 Ply Silks
Description
Four ply silk is a heavier version of silk crepe made with four ply yarn. A four ply yarn is made from twisting together four individual yarn strands. The resulting fabric is medium to heavy weight, smooth and flat, with a crepe finish and a good deal of lustre. The fabric tailors and drapes beautifully and is a favorite for bridal usage.
General Uses
4 ply silks are most frequently used for bridal gowns, semi fitted garments, dresses and suits. Fabric sews easily, but shows pin holes and ravels fairly easily. We also have a 45 mm (momme) thick 4 ply silk that is the Cadillac of silks.
Now I don't know about the particular fabric from Fabric Mart as mine has not arrived yet, but perhaps this will help.
