Hi,
I have many patterns from magazines. However, want to draft my own, for a little business I am in the process of setting up. Cant use patterns in magazines due to copyright.
Does anyone know where there is expert advice on how to draw up the Bishop blocking guide, once the pattern has been drafted.
Have received advice on how to draft the bishop. Need to play with amount of extra fabric to take into account the smocked pleats..............any advice would be gratefully received. Most pattern drafting books dont seem to cover this.

For an adult or a child?
The Martha pullen forum has heaps of info on smocking.......and some of her patterns can be used to sell as garments.
It goes by the neck circumfrance and then the shoulder circumfrance allowing roughly 3x the fabric depending on the thickness of the fabric. ( by the depth of the smocked area from neck to shoulder tip ) Its a raglan sleeve but the top of the sleeves/neck is cut straight from the armskye to allow you to smock it.
You may need to watch the copyright on the actual embroidery as well.
