Okay, I'm a peasant. My refrigerator is unadorned, unless you consider a grimy calendar, a couple of birthday cards and a to-do list (from 2005) decorative.

What is a refrigerator handle cover and why do I need one?

Sigh. At least there's one version that would remind me of the importance of staying out of the fridge. Do Not Enter

I suspect that this pattern could easily be figured out pretty easily. I'm thinking a rectangle long enough to fit the handles and wide enough to wrap around, plus extra for overlap. Plus seam allowances. Velcro would be applied to the overlaps, and basically, you'd wrap it around the handle, press the velcro together and you're done.

What I don't understand is why.

i had the same idea about the pattern/directions part. some have elastic on the top end and bottom end for extra support.

did you ever notice how grimy the handles get? mine do, and because the surface is white & porous, you have to really scrub it with cleanser or one of those dish scrubbers.

if you have a few, you can switch them out every few days.

the ones i've seen also have been made with leftover quilted fabric.

I found this site.

ccris - yes - i saw that site earlier!

the price i quoted you guys earlier - $12 - that was for a pair. still - quite pricey. i think the ones i saw were lined with pellon (between 2 layers of fabric).

Why in the world would someone want those things?? What's next, doorknob cozies? Light switch covers? Who stared at their fridge long enough to decide that its handles were too plain?
