How do I eliminate bulk on the top of pleated draperies that I want to put a flannel underlining and lining? I'm sewing the draperies out of dupioni silk using the pillowcase method and I keep getting lots of bulk on top. Is there a lighter weight buckrum that can be used? Or am I missing a step?

You can trim the lining and interlining even with the finished length of the panel before you fold down the face fabric. This will help eliminate a lot of the bulk.

Try to trim back the underlining at the hemline that falls below the pocket for the rod..the lining you will probably have to carry to the top or at least to the top of the pocket that holds the rod..hope that helps.
